Linguist, teacher, evaluator
I grew up in Germany, studied and earned my doctorate in Sweden, and taught at an American university for sixteen years. Since 2023 I have worked in AI evaluation.
My Ph.D. is in Linguistics from Lund University (2002). My specialties are syntax, semantics, information structure, and contrastive grammar across German, Swedish, and English.
I taught German, linguistics, and Swedish at the University of South Florida, where I also led the German section and coached instructors on feedback and assessment design. In AI evaluation I have worked as a lead auditor for German on multilingual model evaluation, and as a freelance reviewer and auditor on annotation and model-evaluation projects.
The thread through all of it is the same question: when two careful people judge the same thing, do they reach the same answer, and if not, what in the instructions let them disagree?
